The consent screen says "This app named itself"

The app runs on your own computer, so Ovante can't confirm who made it. Connect only if you started the connection from that app a moment ago.

The consent screen says "This app named itself. Connect only if you started this from it." when the app returns you to an address on your own computer instead of a known site like claude.ai. Ovante can check where a site sends you, but not who wrote a program on your machine, so the name at the top is whatever the app called itself. Claude Code and other tools that run locally always show this.

Fix it

  1. 1
Check Returns you to says an app on this computer.
  2. 2
Ask yourself whether you started a connection from an app on this computer a moment ago, such as running /mcp in Claude Code.
  3. 3
If you did, click Connect. The app works as it would from any other address.
  4. 4
If you didn't, or you aren't sure, click Cancel. Ovante shares nothing and the app gets no access.
  5. 5
If you connected and wish you hadn't, open Settings → Connected apps and click Disconnect. Its access ends at once.
Heads up

An app that names itself "Claude" isn't Claude unless you started it. A connection you approve can read your events, guests and contacts as you.
