Event page traffic
A page view is every load of an event page. A visit is one person's stretch of looking, and conversion is checkout orders divided by visits. Your team, hosts on their own links and bots don't count.
On this page
Ovante counts two things on your public event pages. A page view is every time the page loads. A visit is a person arriving: the same phone reloading the page five times in a few minutes is five page views and one visit.
Page views and visits
| Page views | Visits | |
|---|---|---|
| Counts | Every load of the event page | A device's first view of the event in 30 minutes, or an arrival through another host's link |
| Good for | How much attention the page gets | How many people came, and conversion |
Arriving through a host's link starts a new visit even within the 30 minutes, so each host gets credit for the people they bring.
Conversion
Conversion is checkout orders divided by visits. Orders you add by hand don't count, since nobody visited the page to place them. When there are no visits yet, or more orders than visits, Ovante shows no rate rather than a misleading one.
What Ovante leaves out
- Your team, signed in, viewing your own event. Links the app opens for you, such as the button beside the event's status, mark your device as the team's.
- A host viewing the event through their own link, and a device marked as theirs.
- Bots and automated browsers.
- A draft. Only published pages count.
- A page a browser loaded ahead of time but nobody looked at.
Where each number shows
| Where | Shows |
|---|---|
| The event's Overview | Page views |
| Home, Next up | Visits and Conversion for the past week |
| Analytics | Page views, Conversion, and visits by source |
| The event's Hosts page and a host's drawer | Visits or Link visits per host, and Conversion |
Good to know
- Deleting a host keeps their visits in the event's totals.
- Visits counted before Oct 25, 2026 are equal to that day's page views, because Ovante didn't track visits separately until then.
- When
- Someone opens an event page
- Then
- It's a page view. It's also a visit when that device hasn't viewed the event in 30 minutes, or arrives through a different host's link.
- When
- Your team, a host on their own link, or a bot opens the page
- Then
- The view doesn't count, and neither does any view of a draft.
- When
- Ovante shows a conversion rate
- Then
- It's checkout orders divided by visits. Orders you added by hand don't count, and when orders outnumber visits no rate shows.
- When
- You remove a host
- Then
- The page views and visits their link brought stay in the event's totals.
