Ask for logos
Ask sponsors for a one-color SVG on a transparent background. Ovante paints it in your page's colors so every logo on the wall matches. PNG and JPG work too.
The best file to ask a sponsor for is a one-color SVG with a transparent background. Ovante paints a logo like that in your event page's text color, and in your accent color when a guest points at it, so a wall of logos from twenty companies reads as one design.
What to ask for
| File | How it shows on your page |
|---|---|
| One-color SVG, transparent background | Painted in your page's colors. The best result. |
| PNG with a transparent background | Also painted in your page's colors. |
| PNG on white, or any JPG | Shown as uploaded, with its own colors and background. |
| Can't go on the page. Ask for one of the above. |
A message to sponsors might read: "Please send your logo as a one-color SVG with a transparent background. A PNG or JPG works if that's all you have."
Where sponsors send it
From their order page, under Upload your logo, when their sponsorship level includes a logo. Ovante emails them reminders before your Sponsor logos deadline. You can also upload a file for them from their drawer on Sponsors.
Why one color
- A full-color logo on a dark Showcase page can disappear, and a white box around a JPG looks pasted on.
- A one-color logo has no colors of its own, so Ovante can draw it in yours, and it stays readable on any palette.
- A logo with its own background is shown as it is, which keeps it readable, though it won't match the rest.
When a logo appears
All of these have to be true:
- You approved it on Sponsors.
- The sponsor isn't Anonymous and is shown on the event page.
- Their level's Benefits include Logo on the event page.
The level's Logo size decides how big it shows. See The sponsor wall.
Good to know
- An SVG with a solid shape filling the frame is a logo on a background. Ovante refuses to approve it and says so. Ask for a version with a transparent background.
- SVGs are cleaned before they're published, and only a picture of the logo reaches your page.
- The live screen, the journal and printing use the logo as a picture, with its own colors.
- When
- A sponsor sends a logo
- Then
- It shows on the event page only after you approve it and their level has Logo on the event page on. An anonymous sponsor shows with no name, logo or link.
