A gift vanished from my totals
A refunded gift leaves every list and total. Refunding an order refunds the gifts on it too.
When a gift is refunded, Ovante takes it out of Donations, the event's Donations page, Transactions and Recent transactions. Refunding an order refunds every gift on it, including a donation added at checkout and a card fee the buyer covered.
Fix it
- 1Open Transactions and search for the donor. The order says Refunded or Partially refunded.
- 2Open it to see what was refunded.
- 3If the refund was a mistake, ask the donor to give again. A refunded card charge can't be put back.
- When
- A gift is refunded
- Then
- It leaves Transactions, Recent transactions and every money total, and the donor's contact stops counting it.
- When
- You refund a card order
- Then
- The whole payment goes back, gifts on the order included, and every ticket on it turns Not going. The buyer gets an email saying the money arrives in 5 to 10 business days.
Not this?
- The gift was never in your totals: a sponsor or ad added as Not paid yet books no gift until you mark it paid. See Collect a promised payment.
- A pledge isn't counted: a pledge becomes a gift when you mark it paid. See Mark a pledge as paid.
- Sponsorship money sits under Donations: see Sponsorship money shows under Donations.
