When Gala closes
After Gala closes, everything it recorded stays readable and exportable, but nothing can change, nothing new sells through it, and the Pro features it gave the event end.
Gala
Gala closes 90 days after your event ends, or sooner if that would be more than 18 months after it was turned on. From then on every Gala page reads Gala closed on with the date, and says you can still read everything Gala recorded but not change it.
What stays
- Every sponsor, journal ad, table, seat, appeal gift and pledge, as it was on the day Gala closed.
- Export sponsors on Sponsors, Export on the journal's page order, Export on Pledges, the caterer list and printing on Seating.
- The seating editor opens as Open seating, read only.
- Orders, tickets, gifts and refunds on the event, which belong to the event, not to Gala.
What stops
- Changes on every Gala page: no new sponsors or ads, no logo or ad reviews, no seating moves, no appeal setup, no deadlines.
- Collecting: Mark as paid leaves the sponsor, ad and pledge lists. Record what you've received before Gala closes.
- Journal ads at checkout. The Journal section leaves your event page and checkout refuses ads.
- Your buyers' order page. Every task locks, and the page says the event no longer takes changes.
- Reminders. No more deadline emails go out.
- Giving without attending. The switch stays as it was and can't be changed.
The Pro features end with it
While Gala was open, the event ran on Pro whatever your plan. When it closes, the event goes back to your org's plan. On Free that means:
- Ovante's 5% fee applies to anything the event sells from then on.
- The 50-attendee cap applies again. An event already past it stops selling.
- Check-in, adding hosts, offline payments and the other Pro features turn off on that event.
On Pro, nothing about the plan changes.
Good to know
- The event's page style stays Showcase, and its people stay honorees and committee members.
- Changing the event's date after Gala has closed doesn't reopen it.
