Use your own domain

Your event pages and calendar can live on a web address you own, such as events.yourname.org. Ovante support sets it up after you add one DNS record.

On this page

Your org's public pages can live on a domain you own instead of ovante.app. Chabad of Starbase could put Gala Under the Stars at events.jewishstarbase.com/gala26 and its calendar at events.jewishstarbase.com. An Ovante admin turns it on for you.

Everything you do as an organizer stays on ovante.app: signing in, your events, settings and People. Visiting one of those on your domain sends you back to ovante.app.

Your old ovante.app links keep working. Search engines are told your domain is the main address, so results move to it over time.

How it's set up

  1. 1
Pick the address. Most orgs use a subdomain such as events. or tickets. on a domain they already have.
  2. 2
Write to support@ovante.app with the address you want and your org's name.
  3. 3
Support sends you one DNS record, a CNAME. Whoever manages your domain adds it where your DNS is hosted. If you use Cloudflare, set the record to DNS only.
  4. 4
Support turns the domain on for your org and tells you when it's live.

Only an Ovante admin can attach a domain, so nobody can claim yours.

Apple Pay and Google Pay

Card payments work on your domain from the first day. Apple Pay and Google Pay show at checkout only on a domain registered with Stripe for your account. Ask support to register it when you set up the domain. See Apple Pay doesn't show on my domain.

Good to know

  • An event from another org opened on your domain goes back to ovante.app, so your domain only ever shows your own events.
  • Embed codes point at ovante.app, wherever you paste them.
