What guests see at checkout

Checkout runs in a few steps over your event page: tickets, Your info, an optional donation, then the summary and payment, ending on a confirmation screen with your message.

On this page

Checkout opens over your event page in your event's colors, and takes a guest from picking tickets to holding them in a few steps. Steps that have nothing to ask are skipped.

The steps, in order

StepHeadingWhat happens
TicketsSelect a ticketThe guest picks tickets and bundles. Skipped on Showcase and Interactive, where guests pick on the page.
Your infoYour infoName, email and phone, plus your questions asked once per checkout.
DonationAdd a donationYour suggested amounts and a custom amount, with Skip donation. Only when the donation screen is on.
SummaryThe event's nameThe order, a slot to name each guest, Enter promo code, and payment.

The last button says what happens: Confirm & pay with the total, Confirm & register for a free order, Request to join when a ticket needs approval, or Place order for a way to pay other than card.

On an event with Gala that lets people give without attending, checkout first asks Will you be attending? Those who can't go straight to the donation screen.

Members

A signed-in member sees a card with their photo, name, tier and email in place of the info form, with Not you? to switch. Only a missing name, email or required phone is still asked. When their account fills everything and the event asks no questions once per checkout, Your info is skipped. Signed-out guests see "Member? Sign in for your member price" when the event has member pricing.

Saved cards

A member with a live membership can pay with a card they saved before, or click Use a new card and tick Save this card for next time. Checkout asks for the card's security code when the member signed in more than 7 days ago or the order is $500 or more. Guests without a membership pay as guests. See Saved cards.

The confirmation screen

The heading says what happened:

A gift without a ticketThank you for your gift

Under it, guests read your Confirmation message, set under Registration on the event's Settings page. Buttons lead to Show my tickets (or View my order when QR codes are off), Add to calendar and Back to event page. A confirmation email follows.

Good to know

  • On a Standard page, checkout opens on the tickets step. On Showcase and Interactive it opens on Your info, and Back returns to the page with the picks kept.
  • A gift on its own has no promo code field.
