How long Gala stays open

Gala stays open from the moment Ovante turns it on until 90 days after your event ends, and never more than 18 months after the unlock. While it's open you can change everything Gala holds. After it closes, you can read it all but change none of it.

Where you see the date

In the event, open Settings → Gala. The top card says Gala is on for this event and the date it's open until. Once it has closed, the same card says Gala closed on and the date, on every Gala page.

What sets the close

Ovante works the date out from your event:

• The close is 90 days after the event's end time, or after its start time when it has no end.
• It never runs past 18 months from the day Gala was turned on, so this year's Gala can't carry over to next year's event.

When you change the event's date

The close follows the event while Gala is open:

• Move the event later, and the close moves later, up to the 18-month limit.
• Move it earlier, and the close moves earlier too. A date change never closes Gala on the spot: it always leaves at least a day.
• Once Gala has closed, changing the date doesn't reopen it.

What "closed" means

Every Gala page stays readable: sponsors, the journal, seating, the appeal and its pledges. Exports and printing keep working. Edits, new sponsors and ads, and the Pro features Gala gave the event stop. See When Gala closes for the full list.

Good to know

• Ovante works the window out from your event's dates. There's no setting for it.
