Sponsorship money shows under Donations
A sponsorship splits into seats, booked as tickets at the admission's value, and a gift for the rest. Revenue counts the seats; Donations count the gift.
When a sponsorship level sells, Ovante books each seat it includes as a ticket at the admission ticket's value (its fair market value, else its price) and the rest of the price as a sponsorship gift. Revenue counts the seats and Donations count the gift, which is also the part the tax receipt treats as deductible. A $5,000 level with 10 seats, sold where admission is worth $150, puts $1,500 in Revenue and $3,500 in Donations.
Fix it
Nothing is wrong, and the money isn't missing. To see a sponsorship's whole amount, open the order in Transactions: its total is the full charge. In the event, Fundraising → Sponsors lists every sponsor by level.
- When
- A sponsorship level sells
- Then
- Each seat it includes is a ticket at the admission's value, and the rest of the price is a sponsorship gift. That's why most sponsorship money shows under Donations, not Revenue.
- When
- A buyer pays more than a ticket's fair market value
- Then
- Ovante books the difference as a gift: revenue counts the ticket's value and Donations count the rest. The buyer still sees the full price on their order.

- A sponsor you added as Not paid yet isn't in Donations: no gift is booked until you mark it paid. See Collect a promised payment.
