When the connection drops
Check-ins made without a connection wait on the phone and send when it's back online. The top bar counts what's waiting. Keep the page open until it clears.
Venues lose signal. When a check-in can't reach Ovante, the phone keeps it and sends it when the connection comes back. You can keep scanning and checking people in the whole time.
What you see
- The check-in shows on screen at once, as usual.
- An amber pill at the top says "Offline", or how many check-ins are waiting, like "3 to sync".
- When the phone is back online, it sends what's waiting and the pill goes away. It also tries again every few seconds, in case the phone doesn't notice the connection is back.
Scans are checked against the guest list the phone already has, so a ticket bought after you lost signal won't be on it yet.
Keep the page open
Waiting check-ins are held in the open check-in page on that phone. Closing the page or reloading it before the pill clears loses them, and those guests show as not checked in.
Good to know
- Other doors don't see a waiting check-in until it sends. See Check in at several doors.
- A check-in Ovante refuses, because of your plan or your role, is taken back with a message saying why. Only a lost connection waits in the queue.
- When
- The phone loses its connection
- Then
- Check-ins wait in a queue, counted in the top bar, and send when it's back online. One the server refuses is taken back with a message.
