Let guests pledge from their ticket
Guests can pledge from their own ticket page during the appeal. Choose Off, Review first or Straight on, and a cap. Nothing is charged; a pledge is a promise.
Not every gala runs a paddle raise. With pledges from tickets on, each guest's ticket page shows Tonight's appeal while the appeal is live, and they pledge from their own phone. The pledge carries the name on their ticket, like a raised paddle, and nothing is charged.
Turn it on
- 1In the event, open Fundraising → Appeal.
- 2In Setup, under Pledges from tickets, pick a mode (below).
- 3Optional: set Largest pledge from a ticket. Leave it empty for twice your highest level.
- 4Click Save changes.
The three modes
| Mode | What happens to a guest's pledge |
|---|---|
| Off | Guests can't pledge from their tickets. Only your team and paddle entry add pledges. |
| Review first | It waits in the console under Waiting for you, and reaches no total and not the screen until someone approves it |
| Straight on | Up to your highest level, it goes on the screen at once. A bigger pledge waits for you. |
Whoever runs the console can switch modes on the night from the Pledges from tickets card, which makes it the off switch too.
What guests see
During the live appeal, the ticket page shows the room's total toward your goal, your levels as tiles with the current one marked, another amount, and Pledge anonymously. When their order holds more than one person, they pick who the pledge is from. They confirm, and the pledge shows under Your pledges with Undo for a short while.
When the appeal is paused or closed, the card says so and takes no pledges.
Limits
- The name is the ticket's, never typed, so nothing a guest writes reaches the screen. An unnamed seat pledges in its buyer's name.
- A pledge can't be more than your cap. A guest who wants to give more is told to talk to your team.
- An order can make 3 pledges a minute and have 10 standing at once.
- Only tickets that are going can pledge. A request waiting for approval or a guest set to Not going can't.
Good to know
- A pledge is a promise. Collect it afterwards, and mark it paid. See Mark a pledge as paid.
- Guest pledges show in Pledges with Ticket page as their source.
- The ticket link is the guest's key. Anyone with it can pledge as that ticket, the same way they could open it.
- When
- A guest pledges from their ticket page
- Then
- The pledge is in the ticket holder's name, never a typed one, and nothing is charged. An order can make 3 pledges a minute and hold 10 at once.
- When
- Pledges from tickets is set to Review first
- Then
- A guest's pledge waits in the console's Waiting for you list and reaches neither the screen nor any total until someone approves it.
