Export the journal
Put the approved ads in page order, then download a ZIP for your designer: every ad as a file, in order, plus a CSV. Typed ads are drawn by the same code as the preview.
When the ads are in, the journal export hands your designer or printer everything they lay the book out from: every approved ad as its own file, numbered in page order, and a spreadsheet listing them. A typed ad is drawn by the same code that draws its preview in Ovante, so the file you approved is the file the printer gets.
Set the page order
- 1In the event, open Fundraising → Journal.
- 2Scroll to Page order. Approved ads are grouped by placement, in book order: covers first, then gold and silver pages, full, half and quarter pages, greetings, and the back cover.
- 3Drag an ad by its handle to move it within its group.
- 4To sort every group at once, click Sort and pick Sort by name or Sort by honoree.
Each move saves at once. Only approved ads appear here.
Export
- 1In Page order, click Export. The button counts the files as it works.
- 2Your browser downloads a ZIP named after the event.
What's in the ZIP
| File | What it is |
|---|---|
| One file per approved ad, numbered in page order | Uploaded artwork as the buyer sent it. A typed ad drawn as a print-resolution image at its trim size. |
journal.csv | One row per ad: its order, placement, size, buyer, listing, honoree, message and file name |
File names start with the page number, so they sort in book order in any folder.
If a file is missing
If an uploaded file can't be downloaded, Ovante still exports the rest and tells you which ads are missing. Those ads stay in journal.csv with no file name. Open them on the Journal page to replace the artwork, then export again.
Good to know
- The export is a set of files to lay out from, not a finished print file. Your designer still sets up bleed and color for the printer.
- Export works after Gala closes. Reordering doesn't.
- Ads in Submitted or Changes requested aren't in the export until you approve them.
