Scan tickets
A valid scan checks the guest in at once, with no confirm tap. Check in the rest of their order from the result, and undo a wrong scan from three places.
On this page
Scanning a valid ticket checks the guest in the moment the code reads. The whole screen turns green with their name, so you can greet them by it, and the door moves on by itself.
Scan a ticket
- 1Open Live check-in and make sure Scan is showing.
- 2Point the camera at the QR code on the guest's ticket: on their phone, a saved image or a printout.
- 3Read the result. Green "Checked in" means they're in already. After a moment the scanner comes back for the next guest.
- 4Amber or red means look closer. Read the line under the name, then tap Next guest.
Every result is explained in What each scan result means.
Check in the rest of an order
When the guest's order holds tickets that aren't in yet, the result says so, like "3 more on this order", with Check in all and the count. Tap it to check them all in. For one remaining ticket, the button reads Check in.
The guest sheet has the same button under On this order.
Undo a scan
A wrong scan can be undone three ways:
- Undo on the green result.
- Undo on the last-in card at the bottom of the scanner, which shows the last guest checked in.
- Undo check-in in the guest's sheet.
Tapping a checked-in guest in the list opens their sheet. It never undoes a check-in on its own.
Check someone in without scanning
Tap Guests, find them, and tap Check in on their row. See Search the guest list.
What happens next
- When
- A valid ticket is scanned
- Then
- The guest is checked in at once, with no confirm tap. The screen turns green with their name and moves on by itself.
- When
- Someone taps a checked-in guest's row
- Then
- The guest sheet opens. Undo lives there, on the result screen and on the last-in chip, so a stray tap never un-checks anyone.
Good to know
- After a result closes, the same code isn't read again straight away, so holding a ticket in front of the camera doesn't scan it twice.
- At a Gala event with published seating, the green result also shows the guest's table.
- If the guest has their ticket page open, it stamps the ticket "Checked in" shortly after the scan.
