A membership shows Payment due
A renewal charge was declined. The card is tried again over the next few days and the membership stays active meanwhile.
The member's card was declined when their membership renewed. The membership shows Payment due on Memberships, on the person's page and on the member's own page. Ovante emails the member that the payment didn't go through. The card is tried again over the next few days, and the membership stays active meanwhile.
Fix it
- 1Open Memberships → Members and pick Payment due to see who's affected.
- 2Ask the member to add a working card under Payment methods on their membership page and click Make default. Renewals charge the default card.
- 3When the next try goes through, the status goes back to Active.
Not this?
- The member can't remove the old card: see A member can't remove a card.
- The member doesn't get a sign-in code to reach their page: see A member didn't get a sign-in code.
