Review wants to merge a parent and child
Review suggests a merge when two contacts share a phone and their first names agree. Mark the pair Not the same person and it never comes back.

Two contacts on one phone number are usually a household, so Review suggests merging them only when their first names agree. It compares the first word of each first name, ignoring capitals. A parent and child with the same first name still pair up, and so does a contact with no first name at all, since a missing name agrees with anything.
Fix it
- 1Open Contacts → Review.
- 2Under Possible duplicates, find the pair and click Not the same person.
- 3The pair leaves Review, and Ovante never suggests it again.
If one of them has no first name, open that contact, click Edit and add it. With different first names, the pair isn't suggested in the first place.
- When
- You mark a suggestion Not the same person
- Then
- Review never suggests that pair again.
Not this?
- The two really are one person: see The same person appears twice.
- A contact's name changed on its own: see A contact's name changed by itself.
