Log donations and purchases
Two switches log each gift and each checkout as a completed Salesforce Task on the person's record. Replaying history never logs the same one twice.
ProOwner
Ovante can log each gift and each checkout as a completed Task on the person's Salesforce record, with the amount and the event in its subject. Both switches start off.
Turn them on
- 1Open Settings → Integrations, and click Open on the Salesforce card.
- 2Under Donations and purchases, turn on Log donations as Salesforce Tasks, Log purchases as Salesforce Tasks, or both.
- 3Click Save changes. The next gift or checkout logs its Task.
What each Task says
| What happened | Task subject, for example |
|---|---|
| A donation | "Donated $180.00 to Spring Community Dinner" |
| A paid checkout | "Bought 3 tickets to Gala Under the Stars ($450.00)" |
| A free checkout | "Reserved 2 tickets to Spring Community Dinner" |
| A sponsorship, a journal ad, or a gift above a ticket's value | Says what it was, then the event and the amount |
| A refunded gift | "Refunded $180.00 donation to Spring Community Dinner" |
The donation Task goes on the donor's record. The purchase Task goes on the buyer's record, once per checkout, with the ticket types in its description. Money you recorded as collected yourself says how it was paid.
A replay never logs twice
Ovante treats a Task with the same person, the same subject and the same day as the one it already logged. So Bring in past events, or a Replay from History, finds the Task instead of adding another.
Good to know
- The part of a ticket's price above its fair market value is logged as a gift, not as part of the purchase. See Gifts above a ticket's value.
- A checkout whose tickets were all refunded or set to Not going before it was logged isn't logged.
- A refund marks the order's Campaign Members Cancelled when Campaigns are on, and logs a refund Task for each gift when donation Tasks are on.
