Add committee members
Add the people who sell your gala. Each gets their own link, a name in the Committee list on your page, and an optional short profile.
GalaOwner · Admin · Manager
A committee member sells your gala through their own link. Every ticket bought through it counts toward them, and their name appears in the Committee list on your event page. Add people one at a time here, or a whole list at once from a spreadsheet.
Before you start
- For more than a handful of people, import a CSV instead.
- An email is optional, but without one Ovante can't send them their link.
Add a committee member
- 1In the event, open Outreach → Committee.
- 2Click Add committee member. Committee is already picked under Role.
- 3Under Who's hosting, click Search your contacts and pick the person, or click Add someone new and type their name.
- 4Add their Email. Ovante emails them their link, and a note each time someone registers through it.
- 5Optional: add a Photo. It shows in the small drawer that opens from their name.
- 6Optional: under Profile on the event page, add a Title (like Co-chair), Company, Location, a Short bio and Links. With any of these, their name on the page opens a short profile.
- 7Leave Show on the event page on, and click Add committee member. Their link is ready to copy from the row's menu with Copy their link.
What they get
- An email titled "You're on the committee for" your event, with their link, when you add an email.
- Credit for every ticket bought through their link, on the Committee page and the Honorees and committee card.
- A note by email each time someone registers through their link.
Good to know
- A committee member has no portrait. Portrait cards are for honorees.
- Resend invitation in the row's menu emails their link again.
- Show on the event page off keeps their link and their sales and leaves their name off the list. To hide the whole list, use Committee settings.
- A person can be added once per event. Adding the same contact or email again is refused.
- Removing someone takes them off the page, and their link stops working. Their visits stay in the event's totals.
- When
- An event has Gala
- Then
- Every host on it is a committee member, listed by name below the sponsors instead of as a portrait card. Honorees get the portrait cards.
- When
- You add a host who has an email
- Then
- Ovante emails them their link right away, and a note each time someone checks out through it. A host with a member account gets a link to their Hosting page.
- When
- You add someone who already hosts the event
- Then
- Ovante refuses: one host link per person per event, matched by contact, member account or email.
- When
- You remove a host
- Then
- The page views and visits their link brought stay in the event's totals.
