Add a host
Give someone their own link to your event, and credit them for every ticket bought through it.

A host is someone who brings guests: a board member, a table captain, a volunteer. Each host gets their own link to your event page, and Ovante credits them with every visit and ticket that comes through it.
Before you start
- Adding hosts needs Pro, or an event with Gala. On Free, Add host is turned off. Hosts you added before keep their links, and you can still edit and remove them.
- On a Gala event, hosts are your committee and you add honorees instead. See Honorees and the committee.
Add a host
- 1In the event, open Outreach → Hosts.
- 2Click Add host.
- 3Under Who's hosting, click Search your contacts and pick the person, or click Add someone new.
- 4Add an email if they don't have one. Ovante sends the host their link, and a note each time someone registers through it.
- 5Add a photo and a profile if you want guests to read about them.
- 6Leave Show on the event page on to list them under Hosted by.
- 7Click Add host. Their Referral link is ready to copy in the sheet and in the row's menu.
What happens next
- When
- You add a host who has an email
- Then
- Ovante emails them their link right away, and a note each time someone checks out through it. A host with a member account gets a link to their Hosting page.
- When
- A guest arrives through a host's link
- Then
- Their order is credited to that host. On an event anyone can register for, the device remembers the latest host for 7 days, so a later visit without the link still credits them.
- When
- You add someone who already hosts the event
- Then
- Ovante refuses: one host link per person per event, matched by contact, member account or email.
Good to know
- The link never changes when you edit the host's name or email.
- Deleting a host keeps their visits in the event's totals.
- A host's own account photo replaces the one you uploaded.
- Conversion is checkout orders over visits. Orders you add by hand don't count toward it.
