Paddle numbers
Give every guest a paddle number in one step, by table or by name. Numbers print on badges, place cards, escort cards and paddle cards, and paddle entry looks guests up by them.

A paddle number is what a guest holds up during the appeal. Ovante numbers every guest at once, in table order or by name, and prints the number on their cards. During the appeal, paddle entry looks the guest up by it.
Before you start
- Seat your guests first if you want to number them by table.
- Assigning numbers needs access to the event's guests as well as its seating. If Ovante says to ask the event owner for access to attendees, ask for a role that can manage guests.
Assign numbers
- 1In the event, open Guests → Seating and click Print.
- 2Scroll to Paddle numbers. It says how many guests already have a number.
- 3Pick By table or By name.
- 4Set Start at, the first number to give out.
- 5Leave Keep existing numbers ticked to number only the guests who don't have one yet.
- 6Click Assign numbers. A toast says how many guests got a number.
Renumber everyone
Untick Keep existing numbers and click Assign numbers. Ovante asks you to confirm Renumber paddles, because every guest gets a new number and cards you already printed won't match. Print again afterwards.
Where the numbers show
| Where | How |
|---|---|
| Paddle cards | The number as large as it fits, with the guest's name under it |
| Badges, Place cards, Escort cards | A "Paddle" line beside the table |
| Paddle entry | Typing a number shows the guest's name and table |
Print with Print for set to New since the last print to make cards only for guests who got a number since your last run.
Good to know
- Each number is used once per event.
- An unnamed seat's paddle belongs to its buyer: a pledge on it is in the buyer's name.
- Guests without a number are left off paddle cards. The print dialog says how many.
- A paddle number nobody holds can still be entered during the appeal, with a name typed in.
- Once Gala closes, numbers can't be assigned or changed.
