Connect ChabadOne
Sign in to the Salesforce org that runs ChabadOne. Attendance, ticket purchases and donations start landing in ChabadOne's own records, with all three switches on.
ChabadOne is built on Salesforce, so you connect it by signing in to the Salesforce org that runs your ChabadOne. From then on, registrations, check-ins, ticket purchases and donations arrive in ChabadOne's own records as they happen. There's nothing to map.
Before you start
- Connecting needs Pro, and only the org's owner can do it.
- Sign in as a ChabadOne user who can create contacts and Income records. Ovante has exactly that user's access.
Connect
- 1Open Settings → Integrations.
- 2On the ChabadOne CRM card, click Connect.
- 3If you're connecting a sandbox, tick This is a sandbox org.
- 4Click Continue to Salesforce.
- 5Sign in to the Salesforce org that runs ChabadOne and approve the connection.
- 6You're back on the ChabadOne page in Ovante, and the top row says Connected.
The three switches
All three start on. Each one saves the moment you flip it.
| Switch | What it does |
|---|---|
| Track attendance as Event campaigns | Each event becomes a Campaign with the Event record type. Registering makes someone a Confirmed member, a check-in marks them Attended, and Not going or a refund makes them Declined. |
| Book ticket purchases as Income | Each paid checkout becomes a Charge and a Payment on the buyer, against the event's Campaign. Free orders book nothing. |
| Book donations as Income | Each donation becomes a tax-deductible Charge and a Payment on the donor. |
There's no switch for people. Someone new gets a Web contact the first time a switch that's on sends something about them: a registration, a purchase or a gift. With all three off, nothing is sent.
- When
- Someone registers, gives or buys while ChabadOne is connected
- Then
- Ovante creates a ChabadOne Web contact with a Form Submission for your team to review, and ChabadOne's own rules decide who it is. Once ChabadOne merges it into a person, later check-ins and gifts follow to that person.
Check it
Open the menu on the top row and click Test connection. Ovante checks that the user can create contacts and Income records, without reading any of your records. If it says ChabadOne is reachable, but read-only, ask your ChabadOne admin for access, or reconnect as another user.
Next
- To send your history, open the same menu and click Bring in past events. See Bring in past events.
- To see what arrived, open the History tab. See Read the History tab.
- Reconnect ChabadOne and Disconnect in the same menu work like Salesforce's. See Reconnect or disconnect Salesforce.
