Change a guest's status
Move a ticket, or a whole order, between Going and Not going, and choose whether to email them. On an event with approval tickets, a free ticket can go back to review.

Change status moves a guest between Going and Not going after the fact, for one ticket or every ticket on an order. Use it when someone tells you they can't come, or when you take someone back.
Change the status
- 1In the event, open Guests → Attendees and click the person. For a whole order, open Guests → Orders and click the order.
- 2Open the menu at the top of the drawer and click Change status. On a ticket that's already Not going, the status card has a Change status button too.
- 3Pick Going or Not going. On an event with approval tickets, Pending approval is offered as well.
- 4Leave the email checkbox on to tell them. The line under it names the email that goes: "Marked going", "Marked not going" or "Request received".
- 5Click Save. A message confirms the new status and whether an email went out.
What each status does
| Pick | What happens |
|---|---|
| Going | Back on the guest list and able to check in. If the event or the ticket type is full, Ovante refuses with "No seats left. Raise capacity first." |
| Not going | Off the guest list. The ticket won't check in, and any check-in is cleared. It doesn't refund: the dialog shows what they paid so you can refund from the order. |
| Pending approval | Back in the approval queue, to approve or decline again. Free tickets only. |
What you can't change here
- A request still waiting. Approve or decline it instead; see Review requests.
- A paid ticket back to Pending approval. Its money is already captured, so refund the order first.
- A refunded ticket back to Going. Add them again as a new order.
- A declined request that was paid by card. Its hold was released, so ask them to request again.
Good to know
- From the Transactions page or a person's page, the ticket drawer offers Revoke attendee and Restore instead of Change status. Both work without an email.
- Each change records who made it and when. See Who changed a status, and when.
- Edit the wording of the status emails in the event's emails. See Customize event emails.
- When
- A ticket's status changes
- Then
- Ovante records the old and new status, who made the change, and how: by you, an approval, a refund, the buyer, or the system.
