When Pro ends
Your organization moves to Free. Nothing is deleted and live events stay live, but Free's limits and platform fee apply from then on.
When Pro ends, at the end of your free trial or of a cancelled subscription, your organization moves to Free. Nothing is deleted, and events already live stay live. From then on, Free's limits and its 5% platform fee apply.
What keeps working
- Events already live stay live and keep selling, even if you have more than 3.
- Ticket sales, with the 5% platform fee on card payments.
- Memberships, with the same fee on card dues.
- Every attendee, order and contact.
- What you set up on Pro keeps running: checkout questions, approval on ticket types, customized emails, your hosts' links and connected integrations.
What stops
- Publishing past 3 live events. A new event saves as a draft, and you can publish it once you're under the limit.
- Selling past 50 attendees per event. An event already past that number stops selling.
- Check-in at the door.
- Adding hosts. Hosts you added keep their links.
- Recording cash, check and other offline payments.
- Adding checkout questions or polls, turning on approval for a ticket type, customizing emails, and making an event invite-only.
- Connecting or reconnecting an integration.
- Card sales through PayArc. To keep selling, switch to Stripe in Settings → Payments.
Events with Gala
An event with Gala open keeps every Pro feature and pays no Ovante fee, whatever your plan. It doesn't count toward Free's live events or its attendee limit.
Getting Pro back
Upgrade from Settings → Plans or the sidebar's Upgrade to Pro. Everything Free turned off works again at once. See Upgrade to Pro.
- When
- Pro ends
- Then
- Free's rules apply from then on. Events already live stay live, but an event past 50 attendees stops selling and the Pro features turn off, except on events with Gala.
- When
- An org on Free already has 3 live events
- Then
- Publishing another is refused until one ends or you unpublish one. Drafts, events that have ended and events with Gala don't count.
- When
- An event on Free reaches 50 attendees
- Then
- Checkout stops selling and the button says Sold out; buyers read that the event is at capacity. Events on Pro and events with Gala have no such cap.
- When
- An event's Gala is open
- Then
- It runs every Pro feature whatever your plan, pays no Ovante fee, has no attendee cap and doesn't count toward Free's live events.
