Review: clean-up suggestions

Review lists the contacts that may need a look: possible duplicates, registrations that may be someone else, contacts missing an email, and answers that disagree.

What happens next

Review is where Ovante puts what it isn't sure about. Nothing waits on it: every registration has already joined your list, and each suggestion is a decision you can make whenever you like.

Open Review

Open Contacts in the sidebar and click the Review tab. Its label counts the open suggestions, such as Review · 4. A person's page also shows an amber band with Review when a suggestion involves them.

Possible duplicates

Two contacts that may be one person, marked Same phone or Same identity. Two contacts on one phone show up here only when their first names agree.

Not the same person closes the pair for good.
Review and merge opens the merge. See Merge contacts, or undo a merge.

Same email, different details

A registration that joined a contact by email but disagrees on the phone or last name your matching settings ask for. It sits beside the contact it joined.

Same person keeps it where it is.
Split off moves the registration to a new contact. See Split a registration off a contact.

Missing an email

A contact who registered without one.

Type their address in Add their email and click Save.
Keep without email closes the suggestion and keeps the contact.
The bin icon discards the contact. Their registration stays on the event; only the contact goes.

Conflicting answers

A checkout question answered a field differently from what the contact holds, and Ovante didn't overwrite it: either you set the field by hand, or the field fills only once.

Keep the current value, or Use the new one. Using it counts as your edit, so the field locks.

Undo

Most decisions raise a toast with Undo; use it before the toast closes. Split off and discarding a contact can't be undone, and a merge is undone from its own toast.

What happens next

When: You mark a suggestion Not the same person
Then: Review never suggests that pair again.

When: Two contacts share a phone number
Then: Review suggests merging them only when their first names agree, or one has none. A parent and child on one family number aren't flagged.

When: A registration has a contact's email but a different phone or last name, and Contact matching compares them
Then: It joins that contact anyway, and Review lists it under "Same email, different details" for you to mark Same person or Split off. Nothing waits.
