Personalize an email
The fields you can put in an email so each person sees their own name, ticket or link, listed by the kind of email that offers them.
A field fills in each recipient's own details when the email goes out. Insert one with Personalize in the message's toolbar, the braces button beside a subject or headline, or by typing two opening braces in the subject or message to pick from a list. Each field shows as a chip.
Fallbacks
Click a chip to set a fallback: the words used when the recipient has no value. The code behind a field with a fallback looks like this:
{{first_name|friend}}With no fallback, an empty field prints nothing, except First name, which prints "there" ("Hi there").

Good to know
- Values are filled in as plain text, so what a guest typed at checkout can't change how the email looks.
- Send yourself a test to see the fields filled in. See Send a test.
