Add a ticket type
A ticket type is one kind of ticket, with its own name, price and quantity. Add one under Sales, Tickets; leave the quantity blank to sell without a limit.
A ticket type is one kind of ticket you sell: General admission, VIP, Student. Each has its own name, price and quantity, and an event can have as many as you need.
Add a ticket type
- 1In the event, open Sales → Tickets.
- 2Click Add ticket, then Add ticket in the menu.
- 3Type the Name, such as "General admission", and a Description if you want one.
- 4Under Price, set the Ticket price. 0 makes it free.
- 5Under Quantity, type how many to sell in Tickets for sale, or leave it blank to sell without a limit.
- 6Click Create ticket type.
The ticket shows in the list with its price, how many sold and how many remain.
On an Interactive page the button is Add admission instead, since that style sells one ticket. See Add an admission ticket.
The rest of the sheet
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| What's included | Lines shown with a check in the ticket's details on a Showcase or Interactive page, such as "Dinner" or "Valet parking". Click Add an item for each; drag to reorder. |
| Fair market value | What the buyer gets for the price, such as the dinner. Receipts use it to show the tax-deductible part. See Fair market value and what's deductible. |
| Price increases | Raise the price on a schedule. See Schedule a price increase. |
| Show tickets remaining | On a Showcase page, the ticket's card shows how many are left. Needs a quantity. |
| Sales window | When the ticket starts and stops selling. See Set when a ticket is on sale. |
| Available for purchase | Off stops sales without deleting the ticket type. |
| Recommended | Sets this ticket apart with a Recommended chip on a Showcase page. One per event: turning it on here turns it off on the others. |
| Require approval | Orders with this ticket wait for you to approve them. See Require approval for a ticket. |
Edit or delete a ticket type
Click the ticket in the list to open it, change what you need, and click Save.
To delete one, open it and click Delete under Delete ticket type. You can't delete a ticket type once tickets have sold; turn off Available for purchase instead.
Good to know
- The event's capacity applies on top of each ticket's quantity. Checkout stops at whichever runs out first.
- On a Standard page, guests pick tickets in checkout, where the name, description and price show.
