Delete an event
Delete an event by typing its name to confirm. An event with any payment on record can't be deleted; unpublish it instead.
Deleting an event removes it for good, with its registrations, tickets, hosts, promo codes and analytics. It's meant for events that never got going: a test, a draft you no longer need. An event that has taken money stays, so your books and refunds stay whole.
Delete an event
- 1Open Events and click the menu on the event's card, then Delete event. Or, in the event, open Settings and click Delete event under Event actions.
- 2Type the event's name exactly as shown.
- 3Click Delete.
"Event deleted" appears and the event leaves your lists.
Deleting can't be undone. Every registration, ticket, host, promo code and its analytics go with the event.
When an event can't be deleted
If the event has any payment on record, paid, refunded, held for approval or recorded offline, Ovante says This event can't be deleted and keeps it. Ovante keeps payments for your books and for refunds.
- A published event: click Unpublish event in that dialog. The page and checkout stop working, it leaves your calendar, and its orders stay in Transactions.
- A draft: nothing more to do. Nobody can open its page or buy a ticket.
Who can delete
The owner and Admins. Delete event shows only to them, and only while you're working in the event's own org.
Good to know
Contacts stay in People after their event is deleted.
- When
- A teammate tries to refund an order or delete an event
- Then
- Only the owner and Admins can do either. Ovante refuses it for Managers, Door staff and Viewers.
