Let guests pay offline

Add ways to pay besides card, such as check, Zelle or bank transfer, with instructions. The guest's order holds its tickets until you mark it paid.

Some guests would rather send a check or a Zelle than type a card number. Ways to pay let them pick that at checkout and see your instructions. Their order holds its tickets, and you mark it paid when the money arrives.

Before you start

Ways to pay need Pro, or an event with Gala. On Free, the Payments section says "Ways to pay and the card fee cover are on Pro" and the controls are locked.

Add a way to pay

  1. 1
In the event, open Settings and go to Payments.
  2. 2
Click Add a way to pay.
  3. 3
Pick the Method: Check, Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, Bank transfer, Cash or Other.
  4. 4
Set Name at checkout, the name guests see.
  5. 5
Under Instructions, say where to send the money, such as "Make checks out to Chabad of Starbase and mail them to 1 Rocket Rd."
  6. 6
    Click Add way to pay.
  7. 7
Click Save changes at the bottom of the page.

Card stays on above your ways to pay, with Apple Pay and Google Pay.

What guests see

On the payment step, checkout asks "How would you like to pay?" with Card and each of your ways. Picking one shows its instructions and says their tickets are held until you record the payment. The button reads Place order, and the confirmation screen and email repeat how to pay and what's due.

When the money arrives

  1. 1
In the event, open Guests → Orders and click the order. Its status is Awaiting payment.
  2. 2
    Click Mark as paid.
  3. 3
Pick how it was paid under Paid by, the Date received, and a check number or reference.
  4. 4
Click Mark as paid. "Order marked as paid" confirms it.

When ways to pay aren't offered

Checkout offers only Card when the order holds:

  • Journal ads.
  • A sponsorship level.
  • A ticket that needs approval.
  • Nothing to pay, such as a free order.

Good to know

  • Until you mark it paid, the order holds its seats, and any gift on it isn't booked yet.
  • Offline money carries no processor fee and no Ovante fee.
