Set a ticket to Not going or delete it
Revoking sets a ticket to Not going and keeps it on record. Deleting removes it for good. Revoke when someone isn't coming; delete only to clear a mistake.
To take someone off the guest list, set their ticket to Not going. The ticket stays on its order with a record of who changed it. Deleting a ticket removes it from Ovante altogether, so keep it for tickets that should never have existed, like a test or a duplicate.
Revoke and delete side by side
| Revoke (Not going) | Delete | |
|---|---|---|
| The ticket | Stays on its order as Not going | Removed |
| The seat | Freed | Freed |
| Check-in | Cleared; the ticket won't scan in | Gone with the ticket |
| Status history | Records who did it and when | Gone with the ticket |
| Money | Not refunded | Not refunded |
| Undo | Change status to Going, or Restore | Can't be undone |
Revoke a ticket
- 1Open the ticket: in the event, Guests → Attendees, then click the person.
- 2Open the menu at the top of the drawer and click Change status.
- 3Pick Not going, choose whether to email them, and click Save.
Opened from the Transactions page or a person's page, the same drawer's menu has Revoke attendee instead. It asks you to confirm, then sets the ticket to Not going without an email.
Delete a ticket
- 1Set the ticket to Not going first. Delete attendee appears in the drawer's menu only then.
- 2Click Delete attendee.
- 3Confirm. Ovante removes the ticket and closes the drawer.
Deleting can't be undone. The ticket, its status history and its email records go with it, and it no longer counts in any figure. Refund first if money should go back.
Good to know
- Deleting a ticket doesn't delete the person's contact or the rest of the order.
- A refund sets every ticket on the order to Not going on its own. See Refund an order.
- A request is declined, not revoked. See Review requests.
