A guest can't use a promo code
Checkout refuses a code that belongs to another event, is turned off, or has reached its use limit. A ticket with a member price takes no code.
Owner · Admin · Manager
Checkout says Invalid promo code when the code isn't one of this event's codes, it's turned off, or it has been used as many times as you allowed. Codes belong to one event, and the guest has to type the whole code; capitals don't matter.
Fix it
- 1In the event, open Sales → Promo codes.
- 2Find the code. Its Status says Limit reached when it hit its maximum, or Disabled when it's off. If it isn't listed, it belongs to another event: create it here too.
- 3Click the code. Raise or clear Max Uses (Optional), or tick Active (users can apply this code).
- 4Click Save Changes. Ask the guest to apply the code again.
A ticket with a member price for the buyer takes no promo code. A code for the whole order still comes off the rest of the order.
- When
- A ticket gets a member benefit for this buyer
- Then
- No promo code applies to that ticket. An order-wide code still takes money off the rest of the order.
Not this?
- A member doesn't see their member price at all: see The member price doesn't show.
- The guest came through a host whose link applies a code: see How host credit works.
