Hold places for sponsors
Set Reserved on a sponsorship level to hold places for sponsors you're still talking to. They show as Reserved on your page, and checkout never sells them.
When a company has said yes but hasn't signed, hold their place. Set Reserved on the sponsorship level, and your event page shows that many places as Reserved under the level. Checkout counts them as taken, so nobody else can buy them.
Before you start
Reserved places only matter against a limit. Give the level a Sponsor limit if you want it to fill up. With no limit, Reserved places still show on your page.
Hold places
- 1In the event, open Fundraising → Sponsors.
- 2Under Sponsorship levels, open the level's menu and click Edit level.
- 3In the Places card, set Sponsor limit (optional) if the level has one.
- 4Set Reserved to the number of places to hold.
- 5Click Save. Your page lists that many Reserved lines under the level.
How Reserved places count
Places left = the sponsor limit, minus sponsors already recorded or sold, minus Reserved.
| Limit | Sold | Reserved | Places left |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 2 | 1 | 2 |
| 5 | 3 | 2 | None. The level shows Full. |
| None | 2 | 1 | No limit. One Reserved line shows. |
When a level sells at checkout, your page also shows how many places are left. Reserved can't be more than the places still unsold; the sheet says how many you can hold.
When the sponsor signs
- 1Record them with Add sponsor. See Add a sponsor.
- 2Edit the level and lower Reserved by one.
Recording a sponsor doesn't lower Reserved for you.
Good to know
- A level sells at checkout only on an Interactive page with Sell at checkout on. Reserved places are held there too.
- With Show sponsorship opportunities off, Reserved lines are hidden along with prices and Become a sponsor.
- A long run of Reserved places is shortened to a few lines and a count of the rest.
- When
- A sponsorship level has Reserved places
- Then
- Checkout counts them as taken and never sells them, and the page lists each as Reserved under the level.
- When
- A sponsorship level has Sell at checkout on
- Then
- Guests can pick it with Join and pay by card. The switch exists only on an Interactive page and needs at least one seat; on every other page, guests reach you through the button in Become a sponsor.
