Set up journal ad types
Add the ad sizes your journal sells, with a placement, a price, a trim size, what buyers send and how many you'll sell. They go on sale on your event page.

A journal ad type is one size your gala's journal sells: a cover, a full page, a half page, a greeting. Each has its own price, print size and limit. Once you add one, it goes on sale in the Journal section of your event page.
Add an ad size
- 1In the event, open Fundraising → Journal.
- 2Under Ad sizes, click Add ad size.
- 3In Ad size, pick the Placement (Cover, Inside cover, Gold page, Silver page, Full page, Half page, Quarter page, Greeting or Back cover), and give it a Name and an optional Description for the event page.
- 4In Price, set the Price, the Fair market value, and Ads for sale (blank for no limit). A line works out how much is tax-deductible.
- 5In Content, check the Trim size (inches), which starts at the placement's usual size, and pick what Buyers send: Artwork, Text or Both. For text, set a Word limit if you want one.
- 6Leave Active on to sell it, and click Create ad size. It appears in the Ad sizes table with an Active chip.
What each setting does
| Setting | What it changes |
|---|---|
| Placement | Where the ad sits in the book, and the order the journal export uses |
| Fair market value | What the buyer gets in return. The rest of the price is tax-deductible. Keep it at or below the price. |
| Ads for sale | How many sell before the size shows Sold out |
| Trim size (inches) | The size a typed ad is printed at in the export |
| Buyers send | Whether the order page asks for a file, a message, or either |
| Word limit | The longest message a typed ad takes |
| Active | Off hides the size from your event page |
What guests see
Each active size is a card in the Journal section with its price, how many are left when there's a limit, its trim size and your description, and a Place an ad button. When you've set a Journal ads deadline, a line under the cards says when ads are due.
Good to know
- An ad size with a price of $0 isn't offered at checkout. Give comps with Add ad and Complimentary.
- You can't delete a size once it has sold. Turn off Active instead.
- A sponsorship level can include an ad of one of these sizes. See Track sponsor benefits.
- Once Gala closes, the sizes stay readable and nothing sells.
