Check in at several doors

Run Live check-in on as many phones as you have doors. Each phone picks up the others' check-ins every few seconds while its screen is on.

On this page

Every phone running Live check-in for the same event is a door, and the doors stay in step. Each one asks where every ticket stands every 8 seconds while its screen is on, so a guest checked in at the front door shows as in at the side door within that time.

What each door picks up

  • Check-ins and undos from the other doors, every 8 seconds.
  • Changes from your team: a request approved, a ticket set to Not going, an order refunded.
  • Tickets bought after the door opened. These arrive when the door reloads the whole guest list, which it does less often than the status check.

What a guest sees if they try twice

If someone scans in at one door and then again at another, the second door shows amber Already checked in, with the time of the first check-in.

Good to know

  • A door only checks while its screen is on and Live check-in is in front. It catches up when you come back to it.
  • A check-in this phone is still sending keeps its own value, so another door's older reading never flips it back.
  • Each door needs its own connection to stay in step. A phone that loses it keeps working; see When the connection drops.

Then
It shows on every door within 8 seconds while the screen is on. Tickets bought since show within a minute.
