Members-only events and member pricing

Each event sets its own member rules. Give each tier a price, free tickets or a discount, and choose whether only members of some tiers can register.

Every event decides what members get. Each tier can pay the regular price, get free tickets, or get a percent or amount off, and the event can be open to anyone or to members only. Only a member who is signed in gets a member price. Typing a member's email at checkout never does.

Before you start

  • Your program needs at least one tier. See Tiers and perks.
  • Each tier has a default discount, set in the tier editor under Member price on events. An event uses it unless you change it here.

Set a member price

  1. 1
In the event, open Settings and scroll to Members.
  2. 2
Beside a tier, pick its price: Tier default, Regular price, Free, Percent off or Amount off.
  3. 3
For Percent off or Amount off, type the amount.
  4. 4
For Free, Percent off or Amount off, pick how many tickets it covers: Their own ticket, Up to 2 tickets, Up to 4 tickets or Every ticket.
  5. 5
Each change saves straight away. A toast says Member pricing saved.

Make the event members only

  1. 1
In the event, open Settings. Under Registration, set Who can register to Members.
  2. 2
    Click Save changes.
  3. 3
Under Members, open Tiers who can register and tick the tiers that get in. All tiers is the default.
  4. 4
To list the event on your calendar for those members alone, turn on Show to members only under Registration, then save.

Visitors who aren't signed in see "This event is for members." with Sign in to register and Become a member. A member of another tier sees which tiers it's for and See membership tiers.

How checkout applies the price

  • A signed-in member gets their tier's rule for this event, or the tier default when the event has none.
  • The count is per member per event, across all their orders. The priciest tickets get the benefit first.
  • Bundles never get a member price.
  • Visitors who aren't signed in see "Members, sign in for your price" under the button.
When
A member checks out
Then
Their tier's benefit applies only once they're signed in to their member account. Typing a member's email unlocks nothing.
When
Who can register is Members
Then
Only someone signed in with a live membership in an allowed tier can register. Typing a member's email doesn't unlock it.
When
A ticket gets a member benefit for this buyer
Then
No promo code applies to that ticket. An order-wide code still takes money off the rest of the order.

Invite members to the event

Once the event is published, click Invite members in the Members section. Pick the Tiers, edit the Subject and Message, then Send test or Send. The email shows the event, its date and place, and each member's own price. It's marketing, so members who unsubscribed don't get it. Only members not invited yet skips everyone an earlier invite reached.

Good to know

  • Members-only runs on every plan. Invite only, the other limited choice under Who can register, needs Pro.
  • An organizer can still add anyone by hand to a members-only event.
