This walk takes one event from nothing to a live page people can register on: a page style, the basics, one ticket type, publish, and the link to share. Every step links to a fuller article if you want more.

Before you start

  • To sell paid tickets, the owner connects Stripe first. Free tickets work without it. See Connect Stripe.
  • On Free, up to 3 events can be live at a time.

Create the event

  1. 1
In the sidebar, click Events, then Create event.
  2. 2
Pick a page style: Standard, Showcase or Interactive. You can change it later in Edit event.
  3. 3
Type the event's name where it says Event name.
  4. 4
Under When, set Starts, Ends and Time zone.
  5. 5
Under Where, pick In person and search for the Address, or pick Online and paste the Meeting link.
  6. 6
Click Add a banner in the preview on the left and pick an image. The page takes its colors from it.
  7. 7
Click Create event in the top bar. Ovante opens the event's Overview. The event is a draft until you publish it.

Add a ticket type

  1. 1
In the event, open Sales → Tickets.
  2. 2
Click Add ticket, then Add ticket in the menu.
  3. 3
Enter a Name, like General admission, and a Ticket price. 0 makes it free.
  4. 4
Set Tickets for sale, or leave it empty for no limit.
  5. 5
Click Create ticket type. It appears in the tickets table.

Publish and share

  1. 1
At the top of the event, click the status button that says Draft, then pick Published.
  2. 2
The first time, Ovante asks you to check your calendar page's name and URL. Click Save and publish. After that, click Publish in the confirmation.
  3. 3
A toast says Event published. Click View page to see it as a guest would.
  4. 4
In the sidebar, click the event's name, then Copy event link. A toast says Link copied, and the link is ready to paste anywhere.

Good to know

  • An Interactive page also asks for Seats when you create it, and sells one admission ticket. See Pick a page style.
  • A ticket type with no Sales end keeps selling until you stop it, even after the event starts. See Set when a ticket is on sale.
  • Your own visits to the page don't count toward its traffic.
