Add an honoree
Add the people your gala celebrates. Each gets a portrait card in the Honoring section of your event page, their own link, and a name guests can dedicate journal ads to.

An honoree is someone your gala celebrates. They get a portrait card near the top of your event page under Honoring, a profile that opens from it, and their own link that credits them for every ticket bought through it. Guests buying a journal ad can dedicate it to them.
Before you start
- Have a portrait ready. A photo from the waist up works best on the card.
- An email is optional. With one, Ovante emails the honoree their link.
Add an honoree
- 1In the event, open Outreach → Committee.
- 2Click Add committee member.
- 3Under Role, pick Honoree. The sheet's title changes to Add honoree.
- 4Under Who's hosting, click Search your contacts and pick the person, or click Add someone new and type their name.
- 5Add their Email if you want them to get their link.
- 6Add a Photo (a headshot) and a Portrait (the card on your page). With no portrait, the card uses the headshot.
- 7Under Profile on the event page, add what guests should read: Job title, Company, Location, Industry, School, Short bio and Links.
- 8Leave Show on the event page on, and click Add honoree. They appear in the list with an Honoree chip.
What happens next
- Their card shows under Honoring on your event page. Honorees appear in the order you set in Committee settings.
- Their name appears under In honor of when a guest buys a journal ad at checkout or sends their ad from the order page.
- Tickets bought through their link, and ads in their honor, count toward them on the Honorees and committee card.
Good to know
- To turn someone you added as a committee member into an honoree, open them and pick Honoree under Role.
- Show on the event page off keeps their link and their sales, and leaves them out of Honoring.
- A person can be added once per event. Adding the same contact or email again is refused.
- When the honoree has their own member account with a portrait, it replaces the one you uploaded.
- When
- An event has Gala
- Then
- Every host on it is a committee member, listed by name below the sponsors instead of as a portrait card. Honorees get the portrait cards.
- When
- You add someone who already hosts the event
- Then
- Ovante refuses: one host link per person per event, matched by contact, member account or email.
