Door staff at check-in
The Door staff role checks guests in and sees what the door needs, names, ticket types and statuses, but never emails, phone numbers, orders or money.
Door staff is the team role for the people at your door. It opens Live check-in for your events and nothing it doesn't need: they can scan, search and check guests in, and they never see guests' contact details or money.
What Door staff see and do
| Door staff can | Door staff can't |
|---|---|
| Open Live check-in for your org's events | See guests' emails or phone numbers |
| Scan tickets and check guests in, or undo it | Open orders, payments or money figures |
| Search the guest list by name | Search by email or phone |
| See each guest's ticket type, status, check-in time and who bought their ticket | Approve requests, change statuses or edit tickets |
| See a guest's table at a Gala event with published seating | Add attendees |
In the guest sheet, Phone reads "None" and there's no email row, because those fields never reach their phone.
Set someone up
- 1Invite them with the Door staff role. See Invite your team.
- 2Once they've accepted, send them to the event's Live check-in on the phone they'll use, and have them bookmark it.
Good to know
- A guest whose request is waiting scans amber Pending approval. Approving needs someone whose role can add guests, like a Manager or Admin.
- Door staff check in through the same door screen as everyone else, so their check-ins show on every other door.
- When
- Someone has the Door staff role
- Then
- They see names, ticket types and check-in status, and check guests in. They never see emails, phones, orders or money.
