Choose where replies go

Add confirmed reply-to addresses, pick your organization's default, and override it for one event or one blast.

When a guest replies to an email about your event, the reply goes to your reply-to address. Your organization starts with the owner's sign-in email as its default; you can add others, such as a box office address, and pick one per event or per blast.

Add a reply-to address

  1. 1
Open Settings in the sidebar and click Emails.
  2. 2
Under Reply-to addresses, click Add address.
  3. 3
Type the Email address. Add a Display name if you want one; without it, emails show your organization's name.
  4. 4
Tick Make default once confirmed if this should be the address for everything.
  5. 5
Click Send confirmation. The address shows Awaiting confirmation.
  6. 6
Open the email at that address and click its link within 48 hours. The page asks first; click Confirm address.

The row loses its pill, or shows Default, once it's confirmed. If the link expired, the row shows Link expired: open its menu and click Send confirmation again.

Change the default

Open the address's menu and click Make default. Every email that has no event or blast pick of its own uses it.

Use another address for one event

  1. 1
In the event, open Settings → General.
  2. 2
Under Replies, pick an address from Reply-to address. It saves at once.

Use another address for one blast

On the blast's Message step, pick from Reply-to, and change the name beside it if you like. Only confirmed addresses are offered.

Which address wins

When
An email needs a Reply-To address
Then
Ovante uses the address picked for that email, then the event's, then your org's default, then the owner's sign-in email. Only confirmed addresses count.
When
You add a reply-to address
Then
Ovante emails it a confirmation link. The address works once someone opens the link and clicks Confirm address within 48 hours.

Good to know

  • Two addresses can't be removed: the current default (make another the default first) and the owner's sign-in email.
  • Removing an address moves any event using it back to the default.
  • If the owner changes their sign-in email, the new one joins the list, already confirmed.
