Collect a promised payment
A sponsor or ad recorded as Not paid yet shows what's still to collect. Mark as paid when the money comes in, and only then does it become a gift.

When you add a sponsor or a journal ad as Not paid yet, Ovante records what they agreed to pay and waits. Mark it paid when the check arrives. Until then the promise isn't a gift, so it stays out of your CRM and out of the contact's giving.
Find what's still owed
- On Sponsors, the Amount column shows an amber chip with what's due.
- On Journal, the Payment column does the same for each ad.
- On the Overview, Raised says how much is still to collect, and from how many sponsors and ads.
Mark it as paid
- 1In the event, open Fundraising → Sponsors (or Journal for an ad).
- 2Click the sponsor or the ad. An amber card at the top of the drawer says how much is to collect.
- 3Click Mark as paid.
- 4Pick Paid by, the Date received, and add a Check number or Reference if you have one.
- 5Click Mark as paid. The card leaves the drawer and the chip leaves the list.
You can also mark it paid from the order itself, in the order drawer.

Good to know
- Mark as paid records the full amount still due.
- Seats held for a promise keep their place, so they count against capacity and the level's limit.
- A promise sends no reminder. Follow up yourself.
- Once Gala closes, Mark as paid leaves the Gala pages. Record payments before then.

- The order owes the price and Ovante records no gift until you click Mark as paid, so nothing reaches your CRM or the contact's giving before then.
- When
- A buyer picks a way to pay offline at checkout
- Then
- Their tickets are booked and hold seats, with payment pending. Ovante records no payment and no gift until you click Mark as paid.
- When
- You record a payment you collected yourself
- Then
- It carries no processor fee and no Ovante fee, on any plan.
