Host photos
A host has a round headshot and a tall portrait. A host's own photos from their member account replace the ones you upload.
Each host can have two photos: a Photo, the round headshot beside their name, and a Portrait, the tall picture on their card. When a host has their own photos on their member account, Ovante shows those instead of yours.
Which photo shows where
| Photo (headshot) | Portrait | |
|---|---|---|
| Shape | Round | Tall, cropped from the top third |
| Where | Hosted by on a Standard page, your Hosts lists, leaderboards, Home | The host's card and profile on a Showcase or Interactive page |
| Without one | Their initials | The headshot stands in, else their initials |
A waist-up photo works best as a portrait. Committee members on a Gala event have no portrait; the Committee list shows names.
Add photos
In the event, open Outreach → Hosts, click the host, and use Photo and Portrait in the Details card. Both save with the host when you click Save, or Add host for a new one.
Why a host's photo changed
On your event page and on the Hosting dashboard, a host's own photo wins. Ovante shows, in order:
- 1The photo on the member account linked to this host.
- 2The photo on the host's contact.
- 3The photo you uploaded.
The portrait follows the same order, from the portrait on the host's member profile. When a host has their own photo, their sheet shows it with a note that they change it on their membership page, and there is nothing to upload.
When a host you invited makes their account and has no photo yet, the headshot you uploaded becomes their account photo, and they can change it from there.
Good to know
- Hosts change their own photos from Edit profile on their membership page. See Your photo on the event page.
- Removing your upload doesn't remove the host's own photo.
