Visits look lower than page views
Page views count every load. A visit starts only after a pause in viewing, so reloads and second looks add page views, not visits.
Ovante counts every load of your event page as a page view. A visit starts only when that device hasn't viewed the event's page for 30 minutes, or arrives through a different host's link. Reloading, going back and forth, and a second look a few minutes later are more page views in the same visit. Neither number counts your signed-in team, a host on their own link, devices marked as your team's, or bots.
Fix it
Nothing is broken. Read each number for what it answers: page views say how much the page was opened, visits say how many times people came. Conversion divides checkout orders by visits, so a reload never lowers it. Before Oct 25, 2026 Ovante counted page views only, so for those days visits equal page views.
- When
- Someone opens an event page
- Then
- It's a page view. It's also a visit when that device hasn't viewed the event in 30 minutes, or arrives through a different host's link.
- When
- Your team, a host on their own link, or a bot opens the page
- Then
- The view doesn't count, and neither does any view of a draft.
- When
- Ovante shows a conversion rate
- Then
- It's checkout orders divided by visits. Orders you added by hand don't count, and when orders outnumber visits no rate shows.
