Set the date, time and time zone

Every event runs in its own time zone. Guests in that zone see plain times; guests elsewhere see the zone named after the times.

An event's times are always in its own time zone, the one you pick under When. A dinner at 7:00 PM in New York stays 7:00 PM in New York, wherever you or your guests are.

Set the date and time

  1. 1
Click Edit event, or start a new event.
  2. 2
Under When, pick the day and time for Starts.
  3. 3
Pick the day and time for Ends. Moving the start moves the end with it, so the event keeps its length.
  4. 4
Under Time zone, search for the event's zone. A new event starts in your computer's zone.
  5. 5
    Click Save.

You can type a date or a time instead of picking one: May 4, 9:30 pm and 21:30 all work.

What guests see

  • A guest in the event's zone sees the start and end times with nothing after them.
  • A guest in another zone sees the zone after the times, such as "EST", so nobody misreads them.
  • Checkout, the ticket page and emails always name the zone.

Events over several days

Set Ends to a later day. The page shows the first day, then the end time with its own day, such as Sat, Nov 14, 10:00 AM. On the Events calendar, the event shows on every day it covers, marked "Day 2 of 3" and so on.

Good to know

  • Ovante won't save an event that ends before it starts. "The event must end after it starts." shows under the dates until you fix it.
  • Each ticket's sales window uses the event's time zone too.
  • Changing the date doesn't change any ticket's sales window. Check them under Sales → Tickets after a date change.
