Invite a host to become a member
Send a host one email with their link and a way to make a member account, so they can follow their sales and rank on their membership page.
On this page
A host who is a member of your organization sees their link, their sales and their rank on their membership page. Inviting a host sends them one email that carries their link and a button to make their account.
Before you start
- Your membership program has to be taking members: Memberships → Tiers and perks → Take new members on. Without it, the host sheet has no Member account card.
- The host needs an email.
- A host who is already a member doesn't need an invite. Their card shows their tier, and their email takes them straight to their Hosting dashboard.
Invite a new host
- 1In the event, open Outreach → Hosts and click Add host.
- 2Pick the person from your contacts, or click Add someone new and type their name and email.
- 3In the Member account card, leave Invite them to become a member on.
- 4Click Add host. Ovante sends one email, "Host added: invite", with their link and a Create your account button.
Invite a host you already added
- 1Click the host in the Hosts table.
- 2In the Member account card, click Send sign-up link.
- 3The card notes the day you sent it. Click Send again if they need it once more.
What the host sees
The button opens a sign-up page that names your event. The host makes their account with a sign-in code; the name and email you typed are filled in, and they can change either. Their account is then linked to their host link.
Next they pick a tier and join, without a request, even when Approve new members is on. If you aren't taking members, the page says so, and their link still counts everyone who registers through it.
Once they're in, the page says they're all set and sends them to their membership, where the event is waiting under Hosting.
Good to know
- The invite never changes the host's link or the credit they already have.
- A host who signs up without a photo gets the headshot you uploaded as their account photo.
The rule behind this page
- When
- A host joins through your invitation to become a member
- Then
- They join a public tier without a request, even with Approve new members on. A hidden tier still comes to you.
