Connect another app

Any MCP app that signs in with OAuth and registers itself can connect at https://ovante.app/api/mcp, if it returns you to an allowed address.

On this page

Any app that speaks MCP can read Ovante as you, as long as it signs in with OAuth, registers itself, and sends you back to an address Ovante allows. Ovante has no API keys and no public REST API: every connection goes through the consent screen and shows under Connected apps.

What the app needs

Ovante expects
Addresshttps://ovante.app/api/mcp
TransportStreamable HTTP. Each POST gets one JSON answer; there is no standing event stream.
Sign-inOAuth authorization code with PKCE (S256), as a public client with no secret
RegistrationDynamic client registration. Ovante's discovery documents point the app to it.
Return addressAn https address on claude.ai, claude.com, chatgpt.com or chat.openai.com, or an app on your own computer (http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1, any port)
TokensShort-lived access tokens and rotating refresh tokens

An app that asks to return anywhere else is refused when it registers, so a sign-in code can only ever reach one of those addresses.

Connect it

  1. 1
In your app, add an MCP server with the address https://ovante.app/api/mcp.
  2. 2
Start the connection. The app registers itself and opens Ovante in your browser.
  3. 3
Sign in to Ovante if it asks, and check Signed in as.
  4. 4
Check Returns you to. A local app shows "an app on this computer" and "This app named itself."
  5. 5
Click Connect if you started this yourself. Otherwise click Cancel.
  6. 6
The app comes back with Ovante's tools. It shows under Settings → Connected apps.

Good to know

  • Every tool reads only. See Tools for what each returns.
  • A refresh token used twice ends the connection, in case it was copied. Connect again.
  • The connector answers on ovante.app only, not on an org's custom domain.
  • The same limits apply to every app you connect, added together. See Limits.
