Connect Claude Code

Run claude mcp add with Ovante's address, then authenticate from /mcp and approve the connection in your browser.

On this page

Claude Code can read your Ovante events, sales, guests and contacts the same way Claude does. You add Ovante as an MCP server from your terminal, then approve the connection on Ovante's consent screen in your browser.

Connect Claude Code

  1. 1
    In a terminal, add Ovante:
claude mcp add --transport http ovante https://ovante.app/api/mcp
  1. 1
Start Claude Code and run /mcp.
  2. 2
Pick ovante and choose to authenticate. Your browser opens Ovante.
  3. 3
Sign in to Ovante if it asks, and check Signed in as is the right account.
  4. 4
The consent screen says it Returns you to an app on this computer, and "This app named itself." That's expected: Claude Code runs on your machine, so it gives Ovante its own name. Click Connect only if you started this from Claude Code a moment ago.
  5. 5
Go back to the terminal. /mcp shows ovante as connected, and Claude Code can use its tools.

What happens next

  • The connection appears under Settings → Connected apps, named as Claude Code named itself.
  • Claude Code can only read Ovante. It gets links back to the dashboard for anything you'd change.
  • If the connection lapses, /mcp asks you to authenticate again.

Good to know

  • To stop using it on this machine, remove the server from Claude Code. To end its access everywhere, click Disconnect under Connected apps in Ovante.
  • Every call counts toward the same limits as any other app you've connected. See Limits.
  • If you work in more than one org, name the org or event in your request. The connector reads your own org by default.
