Tag your events
Put your own tags on events, like Shabbat or Young professionals. Your calendar page shows them as chips above the events, and a visitor picks one to see only those events.

On this page
Tags are your organization's own labels for its events, such as "Shabbat", "Women" or "Young professionals". You add them to an event in the event editor. On your calendar page, the tags on your listed events become chips above the list, and a visitor clicks one to see only those events.
Tag an event
- 1Open the event and click Edit event, or start a new one from Create event.
- 2Under Tags, click Add a tag.
- 3Pick one of your organization's tags, or type a new name and pick the row that reads Create "Young professionals". Each click adds or removes a tag; picked ones show a check.
- 4To take a tag off the event, click the X on its chip.
- 5In Edit event, click Save changes in the bar at the bottom; on a new event, click Create event. New tag names join your organization's list then.
Your organization's tags are shared by all its events. A name matches whatever its capitals, so "shabbat" picks the existing "Shabbat" tag. Each event holds a limited number of tags, and the list says so when you reach it.
What visitors see
- Your calendar page shows a row of chips above the events: All first, then each tag that's on an event in the list. Upcoming and Past each show their own tags.
- Clicking a chip shows only the events with that tag. Clicking it again, or All, shows everything.
- The pick goes in the page's address as
?tag=Shabbat, so a link can open the page already filtered. A tag your organization doesn't have shows every event. - Your calendar embed shows the same chips. See Embed your calendar.
Good to know
- Only events listed Public count. An Unlisted event, or one listed for Members, never brings its tags onto the page.
- Duplicating an event doesn't copy its tags yet. Add them to the copy.
- Someone who can edit an event but not your organization's events, like a staff member on one event, can pick existing tags but not create new ones.
- There's no screen to rename or delete a tag yet. A tag on no listed event shows no chip.
