Credit an order to a host
When a guest bought without a host's link, change the order's Referred by. Every ticket on it moves to that host, and their totals update at once.
Owner · Admin · Manager
A guest who buys without a host's link counts toward no one, and one who opened another host's link last counts toward that host. You can fix either from the order. The tickets then count toward the host you pick, as if the guest had used their link.
Change the host on an order
- 1In the event, open Guests → Orders and open the order. Or open it from Transactions.
- 2Beside Referred by, click Change. In the order drawer, Change host is also in the order's menu.
- 3Pick the host, or No host to take the credit away.
- 4To tell the host, leave the email box under the picker ticked.
- 5Click Save. A toast names the host, and Referred by shows them.
What happens next
- Every ticket on the order moves together, the way checkout credits them.
- The host's tickets, orders and conversion on the Hosts tab, their rank on Home and on their Hosting page, and the order's Referred by all update. Moving an order from one host to another takes it off the first host's total; the dialog says by how many tickets.
- The email is the one a host gets when someone checks out through their link, with their running total. A host with no email can't be emailed; add one in their sheet first.
- When
- You change the host on an order
- Then
- Every ticket on the order moves to the host you pick, or to none. Both hosts' totals update at once. Tick the email box and the new host gets the note they'd get for a checkout through their link.
Good to know
- Only someone who can manage the event's hosts sees Change.
- An order with no tickets, such as a gift on its own, has nothing to credit, so it has no Change.
- A request still waiting for your approval can be credited now. It counts toward the host once you approve it.
- The person page's Referred by follows for named guests. An unnamed extra ticket has no line there.
- CRMs and webhooks don't hear about the change.
