Introducing Ovante MCP
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Muse or Instinct to Ovante and ask about your events, sales, guests and contacts in natural language.
Ovante MCP lets an AI app like Claude answer questions about your Ovante account. Ask how the gala is selling, who is waiting for approval, or what a longtime donor has given, and the app looks it up in Ovante.
What it is
MCP, short for Model Context Protocol, is the open standard AI apps use to connect to other software. Ovante now runs an MCP server at https://ovante.app/api/mcp. You add that address to your AI app once, sign in to Ovante and approve the connection. There's no API key to copy or keep safe.
From then on, the app can read:
- Your events, with their dates, ticket types and who can register
- Sales, donations and page views, as each event's Overview shows them
- Guest lists, check-ins, and orders waiting for your approval
- Contacts, with the events each person came to and what they spent and gave
- Home, Analytics and your notifications
It also reads Ovante's organizer guide. Ask how to set something up and the answer uses the names you see in the dashboard.
Check on an event
How is Gala Under the Stars selling compared with last week?
The app finds the event and reads its Overview for the past 7 days: net revenue, donations, tickets sold and page views, each next to the 7 days before, and how close the event is to capacity.
Follow up with "Which orders are waiting for my approval?" and it lists them, each with a link that opens the order in Ovante. You approve or decline there.
Turn a guest list into an email
Write a thank-you email to everyone who came to the Spring Community Dinner, and invite them to our next event.
The app reads who checked in at the dinner and which of your events comes next, then drafts the email. Copy it into a new email on the dinner's Emails page, choose the guests who checked in, and send it from Ovante.
More to ask
- What needs my attention today?
- Find Dana Cohen and show me every event Dana came to.
- How did ticket sales this fall compare with last fall?
What it can see and do
The app signs in as you, so it sees what you can see in Ovante and nothing more. Events in an organization you don't work in stay out of reach.
For now it only reads. It can't create or publish events, email guests, approve requests or refund orders. Ask it to, and it points you to the page in Ovante where you can.
Settings → Connected apps lists every app you've connected and what each one read lately, and Disconnect ends an app's access at once. Owners and Admins also get Settings → AI apps, which turns AI apps off for the whole organization or for one teammate.
Connect your app
Open Settings → Connected apps and pick Claude, ChatGPT or Claude Code. Each has its own steps. In Claude, you add a custom connector under Customize → Connectors, paste the address above and click Connect. ChatGPT needs a paid plan with Developer mode turned on.
Ovante MCP works on every plan. The help center has more on what it reads and who can use it.
