These terms cover the text messages Ovante LLC (“Ovante”, “we”) sends. They add to our terms of service and privacy policy.

What we text

Ovante sends one kind of text: a one-time code that proves a phone number is yours. Organizations on Ovante use these codes so their members and attendees can sign in without a password. Each text comes from Ovante on the organization’s behalf and names it, for example: “Ovante: your Chabad of Starbase code is 123456. It expires in 10 minutes.” We don’t send marketing or promotional texts.

How you agree to get them

You ask for every code yourself, by entering your phone number on a sign-in page and choosing to continue. That request is your consent to get that code by text. Nothing else signs you up, and we don’t text a number that didn’t ask for a code.

How often

One text for each code you ask for, and no more than 3 codes an hour for one account.

Cost

Ovante doesn’t charge for these texts. Message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply.

Stopping texts and getting help

• Reply STOP to any of our texts to stop them. We send one text to confirm, then no more. You can still sign in with your email.
• Reply START to get codes by text again.
• Reply HELP for help, or email support@ovante.app.

Delivery

Mobile carriers deliver texts as best they can. Neither Ovante nor the carriers are liable for texts that are delayed or don’t arrive. If a code doesn’t come, ask for another or sign in with your email instead.

Your phone number

We use your number to send the codes you ask for and to recognize your account with the organization you signed in to. We don’t sell it. We don’t share mobile phone numbers, or your agreement to get texts, with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Twilio, the company that delivers our texts, receives your number only to deliver them. The privacy policy covers the rest.
